Karnataka > Bengaluru:
Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah ordered a high level inquiry on Thursday into allegations of “special facilities“ being provided to jailed AIADMK general secretary V K Sasikala for a Rs 2-crore bribe to senior officers of the prisons department and that authorities had turned a blind eye to drug trafficking inside the Parappana Agrahara jail.
Law minister T B Jayachandra has sought a report from the home secretary . The order came on a letter submitted by deputy inspector general of police (prisons) D Roopa to DGP (prisons) H N Sathyanarayana Rao. Roopa alleged that Sasikala, who is serving a sentence at Parappana Agrahara central jail, had been given a special kitchen and other facilities by prison staff.
