Mumbai man dies during trek in Manali

A 29-year-old man from Mumbai died after collapsing suddenly during a trek to Hamta Pass near Manali on Saturday .

Worli resident Sunandan Suneel Keertikar was reportedly trekking at Hamta, which is at an altitude of 14,000ft, with a guide and two friends, identified as Manoj and Jagnesh, when he collapsed. The guide rushed him to hospital in Manali, where he was declared brought dead. Manali police are investigating Keertikar’s death.

Despite its altitude, Hamta has emerged as a popular trekking spot for tourists.
